1. Your business website is not mobile friendly
Your busy audience is always looking for a convenient way to find information fast. We are doing more on our phones than ever before so it’s important that your business website is easily read on all devices such as laptops, smartphones and iPads. Your website needs to be responsive once it’s scaled down on a smaller device. If it’s not displaying right, then it is definitely time to give your website a facelift.
2. It’s slow
Sadly no one has time to wait anymore. A slow business website is just as bad as waiting in line or having our phone call put on hold. Technology never stops moving so your web page needs to be able to keep up. If your site is too slow or freezes up during a search you could lose potential customers.
3. Your social networks are nowhere to be found
You’ve got to be very social online these days so it’s important that your audience can find you on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. If you post online on a regular basis, let everyone know where to find you.
4. Your content is out of date
If you have not posted any news or new product updates since last year then your website needs some attention. It’s competitive out there so don’t let your website be on the bottom of your to-do list. The more you update your site, the more you can add that to your social media. As an added bonus, your page will move up the ranks in Google searches once you start updating your web page on a regular basis.
5. Your webpage is not getting any attention
If your site stats are low, your sales are low or if you are not getting any leads then it’s time to update your page. Many websites come with an analytics page so you can have a look at what is working and what needs improving. Once your site is updated, you can advertise that to get the ball rolling again. The more attention you give your business webpage, the more it will draw attention to your page.
6. Your site is over 3 years old
Obviously if your website is over 3 years old it is not up to par with today’s fast paced technology. Make sure your new web page layout includes a mobile responsive theme that works well, looks good and is easy to navigate. If you are not sure, look at some sites while taking note of what works well and what doesn’t. This will help you decide how you will redesign your page.
7. You are not posting news
Keep them coming back with great content and news. Post a sale, or an upcoming event, tip sheets or a well-written article. This will increase the visits to your website. Once you get some content going, start a newsletter and make sure you have a sign-up section so they can easily subscribe to it.
8. Your images are out of date
If you are using the same imagery for the past year then it’s time for a fresh look. Try to avoid stock photos that have been overused online. If you can, add original photos taken by you or a professional.
9. Your biography needs an update
Your information page is one of the most popular pages on your site that people naturally gravitate to. Folks are interested in what people do, how they do it and how it all got started. Update it often. Keep it fun and throw in some humour too.
10. You are tired of looking at it and need a change
If you grumble and complain about your site every time you log on then its time for a website overhaul. Simple updates can be colour, layout, different fonts to imagery. Think of it like rearranging a room. Sometimes a change here and there can be the refreshing boost you need.
